Bay County, Florida was fundamentally changed on October 10th, 2018.
With sustained winds of 155 mph, Hurricane Michael made landfall on the Gulf Coast of Florida leaving 1.2 million without power in several east coast and southern states. In October, AOL estimated damage throughout the United States to have exceeded $15 billion dollars.
Here, at Red Alert Diving, we were incredibly lucky, and very blessed to have many great friends around the country who immediately shipped in supplies to help our staff and neighbors during this time. Many of these items were given freely throughout our community.
Now, with our crew working to rebuild our community and our lives, we are beginning to look toward the holiday season. The damage here is still extensive, and many people are still not able to sleep in their own houses, much less think about Christmas shopping. Kids here need your help so they can have a merry Christmas. To address this, we are creating the 1st Annual Red Alert Diving Toy Drive. Items can be shipped here to Red Alert Diving, 1619 Moylan Road, Panama City Beach, FL, 32407, or you can view our Amazon Shopping List to purchase toys to help some of our local children have a better holiday experience.
It is going to be a long journey to get Bay County back to where we were.
Merry Christmas, and thank you all for your help,
